Edition 02: Shifting Gears, from Design to Delivery

This quarter has been anything but ordinary, for Equilibrium and me. The past month has been a whirlwind of site visits, investor meetings, and late-night calls with the team, each one reinforcing the momentum that is building up at Equilibrium.
Somewhere between airport runways and train rides, I found myself reflecting on our journey from design to delivery. There’s been a lot to process: We’ve moved from building plans to delivering on them. Our nature-based solutions and biochar projects are finally moving out of blueprints and into action, and are now entering stages of being listed, validated, and ready to deliver measurable results. It’s a shift I’ve been waiting for, and one I know our entire team has poured themselves into.
Thank you for following our journey, for challenging us, and for sharing in the hard work and hope.

Picture this: 1,000+ hectares of barren land now renewed. That's more than 1,400 football fields (for anyone keeping track), where we will be planting tens of thousands of saplings this quarter alone—across agricultural lands, forests and coastlines.
We're also thrilled to share that we have secured project financing for some of our projects, which will allow us to expand our reach and deepen our impact in the Global South. More on this soon.
1. Nature-based Solutions Portfolio
Our nature-based solutions portfolio continues to advance meaningfully, and we’re excited about what’s ahead. Our projects are inching closer towards registration, with our Malwa Biodiversity Revival Project (VM0047) soon to be open for public comments. Our Central Tribal Regeneration Project (VM0047), which combines community, climate and biodiversity goals, also lists later in July, with both projects aligned for gold ratings across CCB standards.
The projects were co-designed by the communities themselves, working with FPOs and communities who've been farming these lands for generations. Our best breakthroughs have happened while interacting with the locals over chai, learning from people who actually know these lands inside out.

2. Biochar Portfolio
Over the past year, we’ve been focused on building a scalable strategy for biochar (what we now call our “factory-in-a-box” model), working hand-in-hand with top research institutions across the country to ensure quality and consistency.
We’re gearing up to commission two new biochar production sites this quarter, after months of focused groundwork to secure a sustainable feedstock supply year-round. By building strong on-ground partnerships, we’ve set the stage for reliable, long-term production and local impact and are on track for credit issuance in the coming months. With these facilities up and running, our team is excited to shift gears and start experimenting with biochar application.

4. Carbon Insurance
While those who work with us know how obsessive we are about project risks and delivery, we've taken things a step further. We're now working with top carbon insurance providers to make our projects even more bulletproof. It's our way of making sure everyone, investors, buyers, communities, can sleep better at night knowing their efforts and investments will actually deliver, even when Mother Nature throws curveballs.
We admire the work players like CarbonPool and Kita are doing to help establish this market and raise the bar for transparency and reliability in carbon project development , and ensuring that our projects deliver real, measurable impact, even in the face of uncertainty.

The Team Behind the Mission
None of this happens without the right people, and this year we've brought on some incredible talent across project origination, delivery, and analytics.

Snehanshu brings experience across strategy, investments, with a strong track record in deal flow and due-diligence. At Equilibrium, he will focus this cross-disciplinary approach towards channeling capital into our carbon removal projects, driving both financial and operational excellence. We’re excited to have him onboard as we scale high-integrity climate infrastructure across the Global South.

Mahidhar brings over 4+ years of expertise in process technology, clean-tech innovation, and industrial plant operations, with a passion for technical excellence and impact. At Equilibrium, he will lead end-to-end delivery of our biochar projects, helping ensure every project meets the highest standards. We’re eager to see his leadership and on-ground focus push the boundaries of biochar and measurable climate impact.
As we grow, what keeps us grounded is knowing we haven't lost sight of what matters most: putting communities first and never compromising on quality and genuine impact. That foundation makes all the difference when you're trying to move fast on complex work.

A Day at EQ
At Equilibrium, our diverse backgrounds don't just shape our work, they flavor our everyday moments together.
Mahidhar kicked off the bi-weekly lunch with Hyderabadi biryani, that was lovingly cooked by his mother, whose rich masala and tender meat recipes have been a Sunday‑afternoon staple ever since he was a kid. For Mahidhar, that first mouthful always brings back memories of family gatherings at his home, laughter echoing through the house, and his mom standing proudly while serving them. By sharing his mother’s biryani with the team, he wasn’t just feeding us; it felt like inviting us into those warm, chaotic moments that shaped him.

Our bi-weekly lunches have become more than just a break from work. They're a celebration of the rich tapestry of backgrounds, experiences, and traditions that make Equilibrium special. Each meal is an opportunity to share a piece of ourselves, to understand each other better, and to strengthen the bonds that fuel our collective mission.
To more of these lunches and to the stories yet to be shared.

The momentum we’ve built so far is just the beginning. We’re drawing on the lessons learned from every nursery, every field visit, every block poured, and every conversation with a community leader.
In the coming months, you’ll see Equilibrium reach for even greater impact, restoring not just forests, but entire coastlines with large-scale mangrove projects that will set new standards for blue carbon. We’re scaling up biochar in construction, working alongside innovators and builders to prove that low-carbon materials can be the backbone of tomorrow’s infrastructure. And we’re deepening our partnerships with those who share our vision for resilient, regenerative agriculture, bringing new opportunities to communities that are too often left out of climate progress.
Our goal is simple: raise the bar for climate action through science, community, and bold collaboration. If you’re excited about where we’re headed, let’s connect and shape the future of climate action together.
